- Open Source Development Labs (OSDL) is a nonprofit corporation founded by IBM, Intel, and Computer Associates
to support Linux developers and users. The goal of OSDL is to provide a place where Linux and other Open
Source developers can work together and create standardized and compatible Linux platform applications. Plans for a
state-of-the-art laboratory based somewhere in Oregon were announced in August 2000 by Scott McNeil, who is widely
credited with the concept for OSDL.
