The XI50 XML Integration Appliance, the Silver Award winner, is a complete network device that does XML, legacy and binary transformation, as well as message routing and security.

The appliance scored consistently well among the judges in performance, innovation, ease of integration and use, as well as functionality. Shorter scores in value and support kept it from winning the Gold Award.

Enterprises have been using the appliance to enable XML use on mainframes, ESBs and to do enterprise application integration.

The judges also noted the appliance's ability to do message-level security using encryption, digital signatures, SSL and support for WS-Security. Access control is governed by SAML and LDAP.

Pricing ranges between $50,000 and $75,000 depending on configuration.
