Editor's Summary: The Atom Publishing Protocol, RFC 5023, which provides a standard mechanism for publishing and editing Web resources has been released. Tim Bray, the co-creator of the original XML specification, hailed the release, writing, "Here's the Atom dream: A 'Publish' button on everything ... every word processor and email reader and Web browser and cell phone and PDA and spreadsheet and photo-editor and digicam and outliner and sales-force tracker."
