Librados Inc. and Collaxa Inc. have formed a partnership to integrate their application integration and business process orchestration products.

The two companies said their joint offering, which is based on the Java Connector Architecture (JCA) and Business Process Execution Language (BPEL) standards, will allow customers to connect to enterprise applications and services, orchestrate those IT resources into business processes and manage and monitor the processes once they are deployed.

Redwood Shores, Calif.-based Collaxa said that its BPEL Orchestration Server integrates with San Ramon, Calif.-based Librados' JCA adapters to expose enterprise applications as Web services. A BPEL designer creates processes that tap into the JCA-accessible IT resources. At deployment, a BPEL engine orchestrates interactions with the external resources, while a BPEL console manages the interactions.
