Informatica Corp., Redwood City, Calif., said that it has joined the Web Services Interoperability Organization (WS-I) to help provide its customers with interoperability between their Informatica software implementations and other enterprise applications.

WS-I is an industry organization that promotes Web services interoperability across platforms, operating systems and programming languages.

Informatica said that it supports Web services across its product line, including its PowerCenter data integration platform, PowerAnalyzer business intelligence software and its SuperGlue metadata management software.

"Informatica's Web services-oriented architecture for data integration and business intelligence supports our partners' and customers' vision of using standards to drive extensibility and interoperability," said Sanjay Poonen, senior vice president of worldwide marketing for Informatica.
