Solsoft Inc., Mountain View, Calif., has released a Web services application programming interface (API) for its network security policy management software.

The company said the initiative will allow customers and partners to write programs to interact with the Solsoft Policy Server through a Web services interface, integrating security policy management for both single-vendor and heterogeneous networks.

Implemented as a Web service, the Solsoft Policy Server API provides integration between Solsoft's policy enforcement solution with other security information management (SIM) and security event management (SEM) applications.
