OpenLink Software Inc., Burlington, Mass., has released the newest version of its virtual database for Web services, XML and SQL.

The company said its Virtuoso Universal Server 3.2 virtual relational database management system offers support for Microsoft .NET Common Language Runtime (CLR), including new integration functionality across both the Microsoft and Mono variants of .NET CLR and associated frameworks.

Virtuoso 3.2 also includes additional Web services protocol stack implementations, such as WS-Security and WS-Routing, as well as new XML data types, SQL-to-XML functionality and XML for analysis.

Virtuoso integrates with runtime environments for distributed computing, such as Microsoft .NET, Mono and J2EE, enabling the creation and hosting of WSDL-compliant XML Web services, OpenLink said.
