SAS joins Eclipse integration consortium |

Business intelligence vendor SAS Institute Inc., Cary, N.C., has announced that it has become a member of Eclipse, a consortium of software development vendors that supports and promotes the Eclipse universal tools integration platform. SAS also announced that Rich Main, director of SAS's Java development environments, was elected to represent SAS on the Eclipse Board of Stewards.
SAS is also in other standards organizations, including the Data Mining Group, Global Grid Forum, Java Community Process, Object Management Group and the XML/A Council. By joining the Eclipse consortium, SAS said it will assist in the community effort to create and enhance an open, enterprise-class development environment for the Java and J2EE platforms.
