Fiorano Software, a provider of enterprise-class business process integration and messaging infrastructure technology, has released the Fiorano SOA Platform 9, the latest version of its real-time business software intended to ease migration from development to production, while delivering faster implementation.

The latest upgrade offers improved lifecycle management, new tools designed using standards-based Eclipse eStudio and new dashboard features.

At the center of the SOA Platform 9 upgrade are new capabilities in Event Process Life Cycle Management (EPLCM), which enables users to move an event process across different labeled environments or stages (such as testing, staging, and so on). Servers can automatically pick up pre-created profiles for each environment at deployment. It also enables the user to specify properties for service instances in an event process for various environments, rather than creating new event processes for each environment, according to the company.

These improvements are said to eliminate the manual processes typically required today when migrating from one stage to the next — development, QA, staging and production — during SOA implementation.

The way you move the SOA application between these stages today is often done manually, which is a painful and cumbersome process, explained Atul Saini, CTO and CEO for Fiorano. It also means it takes time and it's expensive, he added.

Saini said the latest upgrade solves this headache by allowing the system itself to define the roll-out stages and enabling the developer, administrator or managers to determine upfront the configurations for each parameter, and each component and sub-component of the flow at each stage.

The Fiorano SOA Platform is constructed of four major elements: Fiorano ESB, FioranoMQ, Fiorano Business Components and Adapters and Fiorano Process Orchestration Tools.

The company also made improvements to FioranoMQ JMS server to reduce data latency to between 5 and 40 milliseconds. In addition, the new eStudio interface, based on an Eclipse development environment, supports multiple programming languages. The program's dashboard item is a web-based console that lets administrators monitor the state of the infrastructure from any location on the network.

Improved programming capabilities rounding out the upgrade include subflows, event-interception, and dynamic validations. The dashboard interface also sports new features to increase efficiency and ease of use.
