XML firewall vendor Forum Systems Inc., has formed another partnership with a network security vendor, extending its reach with mainstream security providers.

Today, Forum and Oblix Inc. announced a deal where Oblix will resell and integrate Forum's XWall Web services firewall with Oblix's COREsv. COREsv software manages Web services, developing and implementing security and services policies and includes a management dashboard. Oblix also sells identity management software for Web portals and extranets.

Forum recently partnered with NetContinuum, with the two security vendors announcing an application and XML firewall bundle in NetContinuum's Application Security Gateway.

Enterprises using or planning for a service-oriented architecture can use the combined product to manage identities and secure XML message delivery.

COREsv enables enterprises to define, deploy and enforce security policies across a network. XWall, not only parses XML traffic, but inspects content for XQuery injections, coercive parsing, schema poisoning, jumbo payloads and XML routing detours -- all of which threaten the integrity of Web services transactions.
