Insession's WebGate product is a suit of software for HP NonStop systems users that enable legacy applications to run on the Web. It also integrates clients and applications via Web services standards.

WebGate supports new GUI client development, standard 6530 and 3270E terminal emulation or automated data stream transformation to give users a range of options for integrating browsers with existing applications, according to the Insession Web site.

WebGate acts as an HTTP server, providing an interface to transactional sub-systems, enabling users to use their Web browser to access applications and systems.

"As we continue to migrate toward integrated Web services, Insession became the clear choice to help us reach our self-service market faster and comply with ever-evolving industry standards," said Dr Michael Humphreys of Nationwide Building Society in a statement.

Nationwide also licensed Insession's SafeTGate network and application security software, which is also built for HP NonStop systems. SafeTGate is also a federated identity management system that supports single sign-on.
