ClientSoft, a developer of legacy integration software for.NET, Java and Web services environments, announced that
its ServiceBuilder Web Services Consumption (WsC) 2.0 product is available.
ServiceBuilder WsC is a suite of tools that enterprise developers can use to enable mainframe applications to consume Web services from service-oriented architectures (SOA).
Developers using a service-oriented architecture on a mainframe are able to publish mainframe transactions as Web services as well as consuming services from J2EE or .NET environments.
New features include a development environment integrated with Visual Studio 2005, integration with mainframe languages like COBOL, Natural, CA-IDEAL, ASSEMBLER, FORTRAN, and PL/1, automatic parsing of Web services into COBOL copybooks, generation of runtime infrastructure, generation of COBOL programs from copybooks and generation of JCL for compilation and testing of new COBOL programs.
