Westbridge ties into new security efforts

Staff report

Westbridge Technology Inc., Mountain View, Calif., announced three new security-related partnerships on Monday.

The XML and Web services security vendor said it has partnered with nCipher, RSA Security and Layer N Networks.

The partnership with nCipher resulted in the Westbridge XML Message Server (XMS) XA2700 series appliance. The new, single 1U rack-mountable device features an integrated nCipher hardware-based cryptographic accelerator.

In the RSA Security announcement, Westbridge said it has completed certification of the Westbridge XML Message Server (XMS) through the RSA Secured Partner Program. Westbridge Technology is now integrated with the RSA ClearTrust Web access management software.

And in the final partnership announcement Monday, Westbridge said has formed an alliance with Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) vendor Layer N Networks. Westbridge said that the alliance will allow its XA2000 series appliances to provide nearly the same speeds for SSL communication as for clear-text messages.
