Program helps bind XML-based standards

Staff report

DataPower Technology Inc., Cambridge, Mass., has created a new program that helps financial services companies to bind XML-based vertical industry standards to general standards.

The program includes a starter kit of pre-built DataPower XS40 XML security gateway policies that bind vertical standards such as Market Data Definition Language (MDDL) to "horizontal" Web services standards such as WS-Security.

The free program is aimed at architects, developers, security officers and network administrators in the financial services sector. It includes pre-built policies for "drop in" security for XBRL or MDDL messages running through a DataPower device, deployment scenarios and case studies on companies that have successfully secured Web service implementations.
