FileNet backs new portal standards

Staff report

FileNet Corp., Costa Mesa, Calif., has added new support in its content management products for two portal computing standards -- Java Specification Request 168 (JSR 168) and Web Services for Remote Portlets (WSRP).

The company said it plans to support Java Specification Request 170 (JSR 170) when it is released as a standard.

These open standards are designed to allow enterprises to integrate applications and content through enterprise portal frameworks.

"We support the industry's focus on portal standards, which allow organizations to focus more on building value-added applications, and less on integration," said Dave Caldeira, vice president of product marketing for FileNet.
