DataPower updates tools for XML network devices

DataPower Technology Inc., Cambridge, Mass., on Wednesday announced the availability of the newest tools for its XML gateway and accelerator hardware.

The company said that its "firmware release 2.5" for the XS40 XML Security Gateway and XA35 XML Accelerator networking devices includes a new authentication, authorization and audit (AAA) framework, including greater support for SAML and fine-grained authorization. It also features improved multi-step XML processing, GUI wizards, integration with existing infrastructure and binary binding.

The products are designed to help enterprises optimize, secure and manage XML-based Web services deployments.

Also on Wednesday, DataPower announced that e-commerce transaction service provider Navio Inc., Cupertino, Calif., has deployed the DataPower XS40 XML Security Gateway to secure the XML-based transactions that it brokers between buyers and sellers on the Web.
