IBM to host 'Geek cruise' for Web services developers

IBM is co-hosting a cruise for Web services developers in May that will feature speakers from its developerWorks program and other Web services experts.

The "Web Services At Sea Geek Cruise" is scheduled for May 23-31, 2004. The cruise ship sails from New York City to the Caribbean, and includes four days of hands-on labs, workshops and sessions. Among those scheduled to speak at the conference are Gina Poole, a vice president in IBM's developer relations group; IBM "cyber evangelist" Doug Tidwell, and John Shedletsky from IBM's developerWorks e-architect team.

Pricing for the cruise starts at $879 per person, plus taxes and gratuities. Attendees can get a discounted conference rate of $295 if they book by Dec. 1.
