Reactivity launches new version of XML firewall

Reactivity Inc., Belmont, Calif., today released the latest version of its XML firewall appliance. The Reactivity XML Firewall 2300 series features integrated hardware SSL acceleration from nCipher and is available now in both production and developer versions.

Model 2350 of the firewall features integrated nCipher hardware key storage and cryptographic acceleration in addition to SSL acceleration, and is also available now, the company said.

Reactivity said its XML firewall device sits at the edge of the corporate network to secure message flow between distributed applications. The appliance is an XML proxy that performs threat defense, authentication, authorization, auditing, XML validation and routing to secure bi-directional message flow, the company said.

The Reactivity XML Firewall comes installed and configured in a single, rack-mountable package containing dual Intel Xeon processors, 2 GB RAM, dual hot-swappable 36 GB RAID storage and dual gigabit Ethernet interfaces, along with a hardened operating system, and can be clustered for both load balancing and fault tolerance, according to Reactivity.
