Commerce One today released the latest version of its business process management software, which now includes a "design center" that integrates user interface design, process definition and business logic development.

Commerce One Inc., Pleasanton, Calif., today released the latest version of its business process management software.

Version 6.5 of the company's Conductor software includes a "design center" based on the Eclipse framework that integrates user interface design, process definition and business logic development.

Commerce One said its Conductor software is now interoperable with more than 200 enterprise applications and existing enterprise application integration (EAI) infrastructures. It also now supports Sun Microsystems' Solaris operating system and IBM's WebSphere application server.

Commerce One said its product manages the development, deployment and lifecycle of "composite processes," which it described as business processes that can combine and connect features, functionality, data or business context from existing applications to create new business functionality.
