Layer 7 launches WS security, policy tools

Layer 7 Technologies Inc., Vancouver, on Tuesday announced the release of security and policy coordination technology for Web services.

The company's SecureSpan Solution controls security and connection policies across Web services enabled software, Layer 7 said.

The product has three components:

  • SecureSpan Manager, which enables security and policy administrators to graphically edit, provision and audit fine-grained security and policy configurations.
  • The SecureSpan Gateway, which enforces security and policy preferences across shared services.
  • The SecureSpan Agent, which mirrors security and policy preferences on client applications without programming.
