ZapThink focuses Web services event on finance, insurance

ZapThink plans a one-day conference on Oct. 28 in New York that focuses on Web services and service-oriented architecture (SOA) for financial services and insurance organizations.

The Waltham, Mass.-based analyst firm said its ZapThinkTank 2003 conference, which will be held at New York's Helmsley Hotel, is aimed at IT executives in financial services and insurance, as well as the vendors who serve those industries.

The morning sessions of the one-day conference focus on understanding Web services and the SOA "big picture," while the afternoon is dedicated to the "brass tacks" of implementing SOAs in financial services and insurance.
