Forum Systems Inc., a Salt Lake City-based provider of XML Web services security gateways, has secured $17.5 million in Series B funding and has announced support for the latest version of Netegrity's security technology for Web services.

The funding round for the startup was led by GMG Partners. Other investors in this round include CMS Companies and Navigator Fund. Forum said it will use the financing in part to accelerate the launch of two new Web services security product lines.

Forum also said its products now support Netegrity TransactionMinder 5.6, a security tool released on Monday that Netegrity said secures access to Web services by inspecting the security information contained in the XML documents submitted by Web services consumers.
