StrikeIron releases Web services analyzer

Staff report

StrikeIron Inc., Research Triangle Park, N.C., has released a tool designed to discover, invoke and understand a Web service.

StrikeIron said its Web Services Analyzer Version 1.1 is the first in a series of products based on its Web Services Business Object (WSBO) technology. WSBO allows users to combine multiple Web services with added business rules and logic that can then be integrated into common business applications such as Microsoft Office, SAP and PeopleSoft, the company said.

The Web Services Analyzer can invoke a Web service with experimental values to enable a user to understand a Web service's applicability and value to a given business situation, StrikeIron said. It also allows the data from Web services to be available to other software applications such as Microsoft Excel, and allows viewing of WSDL and SOAP messages in their native formats for advanced troubleshooting.

StrikeIron said its product runs on Windows 2000, Windows NT and Windows XP desktops, either with or without the .NET architecture.
