NeuVis Software Inc., a rapid application development (RAD) software maker headquartered in Shelton, Conn., has released its latest RAD software NeuArchitect 4.0. It features new design, construction and integration capabilities that are designed to increase application developer productivity, speed product knowledge transfer, and leverage other products that support the application development life cycle, including Rational Rose and IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
NeuArchitect is a model-driven development environment for creating Web services, XML, Web and wireless applications. From these models, NeuArchitect's code construction system creates complete, executable e-business applications, including presentation, interaction, business object and database layers, for deployment on all popular deployment platforms.

PolarLake and SpiritSoft form new alliance
PolarLake, an XML and Web services company based in Dublin, Ireland, has announced a strategic partnership with SpiritSoft, a Java messaging framework firm headquartered in Boston, Mass. The two companies will work together to create an enterprise platform for creating and deploying messaging-based XML & Web services.
The PolarLake development and deployment platform, combined with SpiritSoft's messaging technology, will be designed to offer a scalable, standards-based, business process integration solution. Web services and XML offerings will be able to interconnect with legacy systems. The combined offering will target companies with performing business activities such as B2B e-commerce, straight-through processing in the financial services industry, and more general application integration issues faced by enterprise architects.

Adobe updates AlterCast for Web services
Publishing software maker Adobe Systems Inc. has announced a free update to its Adobe AlterCast automated online image update software that introduces dynamic imaging to Web services.
Adobe AlterCast automates the task of updating images for Web, print and wireless devices. With the new AlterCast Web services update, developers can access AlterCast over the Internet using Java, Perl or .NET APIs, allowing them to dynamically update Web images and automate image production tasks from within most programming languages or environments.
The AlterCast Web services update provides support for industry platforms for enterprise applications, including Sun ONE, IBM Web services, Microsoft .NET and Oracle 9iAS.
