New Layer 7 software spans identity, security, middleware domains

Staff report

XML and Web services security vendor Layer 7 Technologies of Vancouver announced the availability of a cross-domain integration product for Web services.

SecureSpan Bridge connects client applications with Web services across identity, security and middleware domains. It also interoperates with the vendor's XML firewall and policy manager.

Layer 7 said the technology enables enterprises to skip the programming needed to pass XML or SOAP messages between Web services and applications. The software coordinates identity, policy and communication definitions dynamically across departments and partners.

SecureSpan Bridge will be available Nov. 1 through Layer 7 integration partners. Base configurations begin at $20,000.
