Bob Merlo has more than 20 years of experience in enterprise marketing and business development for Internet, telecom and software companies. Merlo brings strong leadership and strategic vision to ChipData and the entire technology community. Merlo and his ChipData team are leading the design community to a more streamlined and accelerated design chain, helping to improve the communication and transformation of product information between design chain participants. Today, Merlo is driving the development and application of real-life Web services for the B2B market. In addition to automating the design of printed circuit boards, Merlo and his team are developing cutting-edge Web services built on E-business standards to help customers reduce support costs and improve business efficiencies throughout the design chain.

With an extensive background in corporate strategy and business development, product management, marketing and public relations, Merlo has the knowledge and experience to create a strong market presence for ChipData, as it addresses the challenges of the design engineering communities drive to shorten design cycles and release products into the market before their competition.

Before joining ChipData, Merlo worked as the chief marketing officer for Deuxo Inc., a premier provider of sales and marketing software solutions designed to generate increased revenue opportunities for organizations investing in direct marketing activities. During his tenure at Deuxo, he assisted in the creation of partner exchange networks and strategic relationships, re-vamped the company's market positioning, launched the company and managed several product introductions while assisting in funding efforts.

Prior to Deuxo, Merlo served as vice president of marketing for Service Metrics, an Internet performance measurement company, which was later acquired by Exodus Communications. During this time, he established the marketing department and created significant brand and market awareness through press and analyst relations and conference speaking engagements. Merlo also played a significant role in positioning the company for acquisition and in contributing to the due-diligence process.

Earlier in his career, Merlo helped found CADIS Inc., which was eventually acquired by Aspect Development, an e-business enterprise software company. As a member of the CADIS executive team, he directed the Marketing and Professional Services organizations for the company.

Prior to Aspect Development, Merlo held several marketing management positions at Octel Communications Corporation, a provider of voice information services to regional bell operating companies (RBOC's) and cellular service providers.

Merlo earned his degree in business administration from the University of Colorado.
