Paul Butterworth Paul Butterworth, Chief Technology Officer, AmberPoint, Inc.
Paul Butterworth is a noted technology visionary with more than 25 years of experience leading high-technology industry innovation. During his career he has led the development of three successive computing paradigms. Butterworth developed one of the earliest commercial relational database management systems while serving as chief architect at Ingres Corporation. He later paved the way for commercial distributed object-oriented development systems as co-founder of Forte Software, Inc., which was later acquired by Sun Microsystems. Today, his vision for application management and integration is driving AmberPoint's leading-edge Web services management software. Butterworth holds a B.S. and M.S. in Information and Computer Science from UC Irvine. He was recently named a "Top Innovator" by Red Herring magazine.
