QUESTION POSED ON: 27 January 2004
I am new to the middleware space and am intersted in learning MQ Series. Do you have any suggestions on how to get started. What prerequisites should I have? What books, white papers and Web sites would you recommend to start the learning process?

There are numerous white papers and specification sheets in the IBM Websphere MQ (formerly MQSeries) Library section.

Besides the official product documentation, IBM also releases 'Redbooks', that are excellent getting-started guides. You can search for MQSeries titles in the redbooks Web site. 'MQSeries Version 5.1: Administration and Programming Examples' is a very good starting point.
