Can RosettaNet-based Web services improve collaboration between electronic suppliers and OEM's?

B2B Web services and E-business standards such as RosettaNet can not only improve efficiencies in the supply chain by automating the transmission and receipt of purchasing-related information, they can also improve the design chain by automating the transmission of product technical information. As they did with supply chain management, suppliers and OEM's can use Web services to significantly speed product information delivery to their customers, partners and sales channels while reducing their own information support costs. Electronic component suppliers can take advantage of RosettaNet and other industry-standard vocabularies such as RNTD and ECALS to transfer data in an unambiguous manner to different customers and partners, while ensuring that the information communicated is specific and relevant to each information recipient. As Intel did with their streamlined supply chain, suppliers can accelerate and improve their design chain by automating and standardizing their content distribution process.
