Is something like Microsoft MQ more reliable than HTTP? What makes it so?

Microsoft MQ embodies a store-and-forward architecture. This means,
messages traveling from a sender to a receiver are stored in a database, in case the receiver is not available to consume messages. Also, MS MQ internally uses sequence numbers and delivery notifications to recover from situations where messages get lost due to broken network connections. HTTP, on the other hand, is much more simplistic and "stateless".
