What are your thoughts on open source for JMS?

I think its a good idea, of course! JMS open source solutions are available from www.open3.com, www.evidian.com/jonas, and others.

However, in my experience, large corporations often stick to established, commercial JMS offerings. The reasons being that middleware integration is a difficult task and commercial JMS vendors do offer consulting services and tools that go beyond JMS messaging (e.g., message transformation, clustering, wireless JMS gateways, etc.).
