QUESTION POSED ON: 05 December 2001
When coming to assess the right one for the job (WebSphere or WebLogic),
bearing in mind that support, ease of implementation and product maturity
are of great importance - which one to choose? How can I have a serious
comparison? Thank you in advance.

Both WebSphere and WebLogic provide similar capabilities and J2EE standards
support grown from different designs, implementations, and strengths. The
best way to seriously determine which one is right for your environment is
to evaluate each of the latest trial versions. Everyone has different
needs, topologies, and operating environments so you want to ensure the
right match first-hand -- rather than rely completely on the plethora of
comparison material available. Check out the WebSphere Application Server
download at http://www.software.ibm.com/websphere/appserv and the WebLogic
Server at http://www.bea.com/products/weblogic/server.
