QUESTION POSED ON: 10 September 2004
I am a Java/J2EE developer and looking for a change in EAI field. I would like to know the future of EAI and what are the skill sets one must posses to become a EAI guru.

You need to understand the problem patterns holistically, including how to identify requirements and match the technology with the requirements. It's a complex occupation because the problem domains are so complex as is the technology.

I would look to work with a consulting organization that specializes in EAI, most big 6 firms do. At that job your experiences will provide you with the skills.
