What is a non-threaded configuration?

The term applies to bulletin boards. "You have the option, at any time, to configure your bulletin board as either Threaded or Non-Threaded. The decision as to which configuration to select, will probably be based on how you plan to use your board. If your visitors will be using your board primarily for discussion topics, you'll want to set it up as a Threaded board. If your visitors will be using your board to primarily post single items/messages such as items for sale, help wanted, classified ads, etc. (messages that won't have further discussion associated with them), you'll want your board up as a Non-Threaded board." -- from http://www.bulletinboards.com/ThreadHelp.htm.
