WebSphere Access Manager security components

WebSphere Access Manager security components

Some vendors in their technical documentation specify that there is a WebSphere Access Manager security component for role-base security (RBAC). In my WebSphere documentation I cant find any mention to this service called by that name. Are they talking about Tivoli Access Manager or IBM Directory Services?

Tivoli, a unit of IBM, has an Access Manager, which is intended to be integrated with WebSphere to handle access control and this is probably what you are reading about. The Tivoli unit is doing a lot of security work for IBM and tying it into other IBM products.
