Q

How does J2EE handle sessions?

I would like to know how does J2EE handle sessions, and how to create and access session data?
The HttpSession class is provided by the J2EE servlet framework to enable developers to store and retrieve session-oriented data. However, there are a number of additional ways to handle session storage and retrieval. For example, session EJBs can be used to handle most of the details of session handling for you. Also long-term session handling can be facilitated using some combination of JDBC, databases, file systems and HTTP cookies or URL rewriting.
